About Us

"Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality."  Romans 12 : 13

Who We Are

Who We Are

At our church, we are a community united by faith, dedicated to spreading love, understanding, and healing. We believe in the transformative power of compassion and the enduring strength of our shared human spirit. Our doors are open to all who seek guidance, support, and a sense of belonging in their spiritual journey.

Our Church was organized in 1865 when nine people gathered to establish what became Pinckneyville First Baptist Church. A highlight of our 160 year history occurred on January 31, 1907 when the Illinois Baptist State Association was organized at a conference held at our church. First Baptist Pinckneyville remains an active member and participant in the work of the IBSA and was recently recognized by that organization for our generous contributions to its mission endeavors.

Our Vision

To win Pinckneyville and our neighboring communities to Christ, one person at a time.

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God who created everything and loves every person deeply.

We believe Jesus is God's Son, who came to earth, died for our sins, and rose again so we can have eternal life.

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, helping us grow in faith and live for God.

We believe the Bible is God’s Word—true, trustworthy, and our guide for life.

We believe that anyone can be saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus—no matter who you are or where you’ve been.
